IABC
(International Association of Business Communicators)
Association site highlights the organization's role as an "international
knowledge network for those involved in strategic business communication
management." However, beyond the basic information about certification,
careers, chapters, awards, and compensation survey results that can be
found online, the site itself provides little "networking" of
its own.
The
Public Relations Society of America (PRSA)
In direct contrast with the IABC site, PRSA has a lot more to offer visitors.
Online access to the association's two publications, Public Relations
Tactics and The Public Relations Strategist, is provided, for
example, as well as the latest industry news and opinions.
Center
for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR)
Non-profit trade organization for the exhibit industry offers a wide array
of resources for members and non-members alike. Downloadable summaries
of the state of the exhibition industry, the "Census", and access
to purchasable reports and member directories are all available.
EventWeb
The site, focused on innovation in the event-hosting industry, provides
a free email publication, the weekly "EventWeb Newsletter."
Coverage is particularly strong on Internet and technology developments
taking place in the event industry. Content is available on the site as
well, but typically runs some time behind the emails.
Exhibitor
Online
Exhibitor Magazine group's site for trade show and event marketing
professionals includes news, opinions, information on upcoming shows,
new products, a glossary of trade-show jargon and terms, a bookstore,
awards, and a supplier directory.
O'Dwyer's
PR Daily
Website for well-known print publication has unfortunately moved its entire
content behind a subscribers-only login, leaving only a teasing main page to
hint at the content that lies within (news, opinion peices, industry directories
and much more).
PRWeek
Site for industry-leading weekly print publication has nationwide coverage
of the public relations business including news, analysis, columnists, and
reviews of campaigns, as well as a career center. Site also has several
international editions that can be accessed from the main page.
All
About Public Relations
First-rate site contains just about everything needed to get a handle
of PR. Basics such as a PR Toolkit, overview of public relations fundamentals,
media directories, information and articles on crisis managements, ethics,
industry news and much more are supplemented by coverage of more complex
topics like international public relations.
Colorado
State University PR Links
Excellent metacollection of links including agencies, organizations, publications,
wire services, and academics.

I-PR
Online Discussion List
Part of the Marketing Wonk network, the main site is a sign-up page and
also provides archive access for this email discussion list, which covers
such topics as Internet PR strategy and implementation, online media relations,
Internet PR tools and resources, industry news, and shows and seminars.

make use of public relations to further their social change aims. However,
the Spin Tutorials also provide much of general use for those looking
to develop strategic media campaigns, including in-depth guides to cultivating
relationships with reporters and making the most of photo opportunities
and media events.
PR-education.org
Site by journalism professor at Colorado State University organizes links
for educators, students, or practitioners, plus a "resources"
category for links of more general use, including a section on published
research in the field of public relations.
